Pascin (b.1885, Vidin, Bulgaria; d. 1930, Paris) aka "Julius Pincas" From the v. excellent article by Claude Roger-Marx in the Dictionary of Art. The son of a Spanish-Jewish father and a half-Serbian, half-Italian mother, Pascin did his early work in Vienna, Berlin, and Munich, where he collaborated while still very youngon the satirical paper Simpliticissimus [?poss ref to Galileo?]. He came to Paris for the first time 1905. Adopted very soon America, he became the perfect example of "internationalism" as Pierre Mac Orlan has written.Major Works
