"Lewis had foremerly been a memmber of Roger Fry's Omega Workshops,
but left after a quarrel with Fry and founded the Rebel Art Centre
in 1914 as a rival group. He was joined by a number of other 
artists also dis-satisfied with Fry's Post-Impressionist
